Attorney Karen (Kay) Berris focuses her practice on family matters, employment and civil litigation. She also prepares Qualified Domestic Relations Orders (QDROS) for dissolution matters..
She has an extensive background in the state courts where she worked for nearly 25 years in administration as well as on the front lines of the Superior Court
Prior to her joining The Prue Law Group Kay had served for almost a decade as the Chief Clerk for the Windham Judicial District, preceded by a 12 year term as the State Jury Administrator and Deputy Director for Superior Court Operations.
As a longtime resident of Eastern Connecticut, Kay is committed to representing area families, employers and residents throughout the court process so that they may realize the best outcome for their circumstances.
Kay received her JD from Quinnipiac University School of Law. She has a MS in Organizational Relations from Eastern Connecticut State University and a BA from the University of Rhode Island. She is a member of both the Connecticut Bar Association as well as the Windham County Bar Association and is licensed to practice in state and federal court. She is a Special Master for the Judicial District of Tolland and a member of the Pro Bono Committee of the Connecticut Bar Association.
In her free time Kay is a violinist with the Manchester Symphony Orchestra and other musical groups. She is a working member of the Willimantic Food Co-Op and a supporter of the Windham Regional Arts Council.
